I have deciated my entire legal career to the pursuit of justice. For well over a decade, I worked at the Kings County District Attorney's Office, trying to make sure that every prosecution that I was involed with was just and fair. It was in my final two years at the DA's Office, while serving as the Deputy Chief of the Conviction Integrity Unit, that I realized that our criminal justice system was plagued by wrongful convictions. Wrongful Convictions occur for a variety of reason, including the failure of the police and prosecuiton to provide exculpatory evidence to the defense, mistakes made during identification procedures, and ineffective assistance by an individual's defense attorney. Upon this realization, I decided to leave my career as a prosecutor, and dedicate the rest of my career to helping prevent and address the criminal justice system's systemic issues with Wrongful Convictions.
