About me

Jason LeBlond has practiced criminal defence law in Northern British Columbia since 1999. Although he bases his practice in Prince George BC, he regularly appears in courts throughout the North, particularly in Vanderhoof, Fort St. James, Quesnel and Mackenzie.

After obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of British Columbia in 1995, Jason graduated from the University of Saskatchewan Law Program in 1999. He then went on to article and work as an associate with a large Prince George law firm.

In 2003, Jason opened an independent practice and began to focus on criminal defence trial work. Since working as a sole practitioner, he has been involved in a wide variety of criminal cases, ranging from impaired driving to serious violent offences including murder. Jason also has significant experience with offences under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act.

Jason has long been concerned about access to justice issues. He has volunteered his time as a member of the Legal Services Criminal Tariff Advisory Committee over the past two years. Jason tries to ensure access to justice by devoting a portion of his practice to accepting legal aid referrals for eligible individuals who cannot afford a Lawyer.

Prior to his legal career, Jason financed his education by working in highway construction, eventually as a project coordinator for a major contractor. Jason also had a brief career in competitive cycling, racing with a variety of sponsors in about 15 sanctioned events each year for 5 years – including the Canadian National Mountain Bike Championships in 1993.

An avid sportsman, Jason enjoys the rugged beauty of Northern British Columbia by engaging in hunting and fishing. He has been a member of the Prince George Rod and Gun Club since 2000. During the winter months, Jason regularly plays hockey in the Prince George Rec Hockey League.
