Emma Wilson is devoted to negotiating the best possible resolutions for her clients. She has a proven ability to get charges reduced or dismissed entirely. Emma handles most kinds of criminal cases and she can often resolve matters without intense litigation or before the need for a trial. Whenever necessary, she represents her clients all the way to trial.

Emma Wilson assists clients charged with any form of assault or crime of violence. This includes, uttering threats, assault, assault with a weapon, sexual assault and domestic violence offences. At Acumen, Emma has demonstrated a talent for getting her clients fully acquitted of sexual assault charges. When representing clients at sentencing, Emma is passionate about helping her clients obtain the best outcome possible.

A graduate of the Peter A. Allard School of Law, Emma volunteered with the Law Students’ Legal Advice Program for her entire legal education, eventually serving as the Executive Director. She also volunteered for a semester with the Indigenous Community Legal Clinic (ICLC) in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver where she assisted clients with matters going before the Residential Tenancy Branch, the Human Rights Tribunal, the Immigration Review Board and the Refugee Protection Division.

Emma is not afraid of cases that might seem stigmatising or are difficult to discuss. She comes to each case without judgment, remaining focused on ensuring the rights and interests of her client are respected throughout the entire process.
