Sara’s practice focuses on criminal trials and appeals. She is committed to protecting the rights of her clients and ensuring that they receive the best possible outcome at every step of the criminal justice process.

Sara earned her B.A. in Sociology and Gender, Race, Sexuality and Social Justice from the University of British Columbia, M.A. in International Affairs from the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs, and her J.D. from the University of Ottawa.

During law school, she gained valuable experience clerking at the Ontario Court of Justice in Ottawa where she dealt exclusively with criminal law matters. Sara was awarded the Public Interest Fellowship to work at Innocence Canada, where she supported counsel in reviewing claims of wrongful conviction. She was also an active member of the competitive mooting program, a caseworker at the Criminal/Refugee Law Clinic where she worked on cases at the appellate level, and an intern at the Legal Bureau of Global Affairs Canada.

Previously, Sara articled for the Ministry of the Attorney General, Crown Law Office – Civil where she worked on complex, high-profile civil litigation. She was called to the bar in 2020 and is a member of the Law Society of Ontario and the Criminal Lawyers’ Association.
