I have resided in Calgary since 1969 and have spent my entire life in the business of criminal law alongside my father, Larry Ross Q.C., who is now retired.
I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts from the University of Calgary in 1984, the Faculty of Law at The University of Alberta in 1987 and was admitted to the Alberta Bar in 1988. I have practiced in Calgary ever since.
MY EXPERIENCE IS LIKE NO OTHER
I have reported decisions in all levels of Court in Alberta and have handled more than 5,000 cases in 32 years of practice. My practice is based solely in the area of criminal defence and covers every charge in the Criminal Code.
I have one client who I have successfully defended on two separate homicides and have handled in excess of 35 homicide trials in my 32 years of practice.
I have successfully defended charges involving impaired driving, drug charges, sexual assault, domestic violence, thefts and frauds and every other charge contained in the Criminal Code.
I have appeared in trial courts in British Columbia, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba.
I have lectured at both The University of Calgary and Mount Royal University and have instructed at the Alberta Bar Admission course for newly graduated law students.
I am positively regarded by all participants in the administration of justice, and my practice is largely comprised of long-term clients as well as referrals.
