About Sean Hartford

Sean graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Alberta in 2016, having already obtained a master’s degree in philosophy. He joined our firm as a student-at-law in September of 2016 and has remained with us as an Associate lawyer upon his call to the Bar of Alberta as a lawyer in 2017.

During his time in law school, Sean focused his education on criminal law and the develoPMent of his skills in advocacy. In his third year, he was awarded the Brian E. Peterson Q.C. Prize in Advocacy for finishing at the top of his class in Advocacy.

Sean was also an active member in the Criminal Law Project with Student Legal Services of Edmonton, where he assisted numerous low-income people facing criminal charges. His experience with Student Legal Services allowed him to start running criminal trials during his second year of law school. Sean has significant experience with matters such as driving, drug and regulatory offences, as well as property and violent offences.

Less than a year out of law school, Sean has maintained a connection to the Faculty of Law, volunteering as a practice witness, as well as a guest judge, for the Faculty of Law moot court programs.
