About Jordan Stuffco

Jordan Stuffco is a criminal defence lawyer with 16 years experience serving clients throughout Alberta and Western Canada. He currently serves as the President of the Criminal Trial Lawyers’ Association of Alberta. Jordan is often contacted by news media regarding criminal justice issues and remains a high profile advocate for the equitable administration of justice within Alberta.

Jordan has a diverse criminal defence practice ranging from impaired driving to murder and sexual assault. He has defended over a dozen homicide cases with exceptional results. Jordan conducted his first jury trial in 2006 and continues to represent clients at all levels of court, from traffic court and administrative tribunals up to appellate courts.

Jordan takes all files seriously and no case is too small or too complex. Jordan’s motto is: “The client is the most important person that walks through my door. Being accused of a crime is a very stressful and daunting experience. My goal is to provide clients with honest, direct, and practical advice. No matter what the client’s circumstance, my office provides a safe space and judgment-free zone whereby we can assess and plan a course of action to get the client the best result possible.”

By way of background, Jordan graduated from one of Canada’s top legal schools, the University of Toronto, Faculty of Law, in 2003. During law school, Jordan was an assistant editor of the Indigenous Law Journal, a ground breaking and widely circulated legal publication focusing on Indigenous legal issues. Jordan also cut his teeth at criminal defence by volunteering with Student Legal Services defending the indigent population within downtown Toronto. Upon receiving his Juris Doctor, Jordan articled at one of Vancouver’s premiere litigation firms, Lawson Lundell. While there, Jordan was trained in all aspects of commercial and civil litigation. Jordan was called to the bar in both British Columbia and Alberta in 2004.

Between 2004 to 2008, Jordan worked out of Fort McMurray, Alberta with the veteran law firm of Campbell & Cooper. Jordan focused on criminal defence and quickly developed a highly respected practice. Jordan has been lead counsel on very serious matters involving multi-kilo drug trafficking cases, murder, sexual assault, firearms related offences, and even defending police officers charged with offences. In the Fall of 2008, Jordan joined the law firm of Davidson Gregory Danyluik & Stuffco working alongside one of Alberta’s most famous and respected criminal Defence lawyers, Mr. Robbie Davidson, Q.C. In the Spring of 2012, Jordan branched out on his own to establish Stuffco Law.

Currently, Jordan remains a continued guest lecturer at the University of Alberta, Faculty of Law, on topics such as Indigenous law and legal advocacy. Jordan was an executive board member with the Legal Aid Society of Alberta for many years and remains active assisting with Legal Aid issues. Jordan speaks Mandarin Chinese and often assists the greater Chinese community within Alberta on a variety of legal issues. Furthermore, as Metis Albertan with a long family history connected to Northern Alberta, Jordan has a passion for serving the rural and outlying areas of Alberta.

Jordan invites all potential clients to contact him to discuss their legal matters so that potential solutions can be discussed.
