He began his career as a criminal defence lawyer in Red Deer and then moved to the Crown Prosecutor’s Office as the youngest prosecutor. He became the longest-serving active Crown Prosecutor in Central Alberta.
As a defence lawyer, Maurice has run countless trials in the Provincial Court, Court of Queen’s Bench, and argued before the Court of Appeal of Alberta. Maurice has lectured at numerous RCMP seminars and has been an instructor for the Alberta Crown Prosecution Service and for prosecutors across the country.
