Cathryn is a confident, experienced lawyer who takes on challenging matters. Cathryn is well versed in constitutional defences based on the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, administrative law and judicial review of administrative decisions. Cathryn defends a broad range of criminal cases, including charges of impaired driving, dangerous driving, sexual assault, assault, drug trafficking and civil forfeiture. Cathryn is undeterred by obstacles or problematic facts in defending a case. She works the case until she obtains the best result for her client.

Cathryn has worked at Mickelson & Whysall since 2012, handling a large volume of files She argues cases at the Provincial Court, Supreme Court and Court of Appeal. She defends cases both throughout the lower mainland as well as in the interior and on Vancouver Island. She successfully defends clients charged with drug trafficking. She also successfully defends allegations of sexual assault, sexual interference, child luring and voyeurism. She has extensive experience defending all driving offences, driving prohibitions and suspensions, including drinking and driving charges, either through the IRP administrative tribunal process or criminally in Provincial Court. She will help you keep your driving privileges or get them back.

Cathryn is from Calgary, Alberta. She obtained her law degree from the University of British Columbia. Before her law degree, she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology from Mount Royal College. She is involved with Access Pro Bono and the Law Student’s Legal Advice Program in providing access to justice and mentoring law students.
