Elliot received his law degree from the University of Calgary. During law school, he was Student Director at Student Legal Assistance, a pro bono legal clinic, before working in Calgary for a busy defence lawyer.He then clerked for seven justices of the B.C. Supreme Court and for Justice Brown at the Supreme Court of Canada.
In his practice, Elliot represents clients charged with a broad range of criminal offences at the trial and appellate levels. He has appeared at all level of courts, including the B.C. Court of Appeal and Supreme Court of Canada. among his other work, he acts as a ‘ward lawyer’ for Vancouver and Burnaby, representing youths in government care who are under criminal investigation or charge.
