Jodie Hartman concentrates her law practice on Notice of Intent to Prohibit, Notice of Prohibition, and traffic violation tickets as well as criminal cases, including fraud, assault, uttering threats and theft under $5,000.

Her attention to detail enables her to achieve positive outcomes for her clients in situations where others would fall short. Jodie is always frank and forthright with her clients about the potential outcomes of their legal matter. She maintains open channels of communication throughout the entire process to make sure they are up to date with what is going on with their files.

Jodie Hartman is usually able to resolve her clients’ criminal matters prior to having to go to trial and she has often been able to clear their charges without them receiving a criminal record. Jodie will help her clients from the initial stages of arrest and being released, to their first court appearances and through resolution discussions with Crown. If a trial is necessary, Jodie is happy to rely on her trial experience to advocate and fight for her clients.

She understands the need for a restorative justice and healing approach to all matters involving Indigenous clients and recognizes the unique circumstances of Indigenous offenders within the criminal justice system and beyond.

Jodie Hartman completed law school at the Peter A. Allard School of Law. Jodie volunteered with the Law Students’ Legal Advice Program (LSLAP) for her entire legal education, where she almost exclusively worked on criminal law files. She also volunteered for a semester with the Indigenous Community Legal Clinic (ICLC) in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver, where she represented clients in both criminal and family proceedings.

She is a tireless advocate who works hard to ensure her clients receive the legal representation they deserve.
