Tony is a lawyer at Edelson Law, where his practice focuses mostly on criminal and regulatory litigation. He appears regularly before the Ontario Court of Justice and the Superior Court of Justice.
Tony is also known as a talented legal writer who crafts clear and cogent arguments. He has appeared as counsel in the Ontario Court of Appeal and drafted materials for litigation at all levels of court in Canada, including the Supreme Court of Canada.
Tony believes that all clients deserve robust and passionate representation, whether facing a Highway Traffic Act offence or the most serious of criminal charges, including murder. Tony has particular expertise in reviewing and challenging search warrants, in navigating the increasingly complicated law relating to sexual offences and in using the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms to his clients’ benefit at trial, including but not limited to having breath samples excluded in drinking and driving prosecutions.
Tony completed a B.A. at McGill University, graduating with distinction. He obtained his J.D. from Queen’s University, where he received a number of distinctions, including the Queen’s Law Prize in Advanced Criminal Law and the Dean’s Bronze Scholar Award (2013-2014). In addition to his work as a trial and appellate lawyer, Tony is an adjunct professor at Queen’s University, Faculty of Law, where he teaches Criminal Trial Advocacy.
