Elizabeth Barefoot obtained her Bachelor of Arts Honours Degree from Queen’s University in 2002. Ms. Barefoot went to both the University of Manitoba and the University of Victoria to obtain her law degree and graduated in 2007. She was called to the Bar in 2008 after returning to Ontario to be closer to her family and articling at a firm in Owen Sound which was once known as Kirby Robinson Treslan Conlan LLP. Ms. Barefoot remained with that firm for 7 years and was mentored by Justice Clayton J. Conlan before he was appointed to the bench of the Superior Court of Justice in 2011. Ms. Barefoot had a brief opportunity to work with Brian D. Barrie after the firm merged to become The Alliance of Kirby Robinson Treslan and Brian D. Barrie Professional Corporation.
Elizabeth Barefoot is a member of the Criminal Lawyers’ Association, Grey County Criminal Lawyer’s Association, Grey County Law Association, Bruce County Law Association. She has served on the Women's Committee of the Criminal Lawyers' Association and is proud to say that she is now on the Board of Directors for the Criminal Lawyers' Association as the Regional Representative for Grey-Bruce.
Ms. Barefoot lives in the Owen Sound area with her husband and three children who she is looking forward to raising in our rural community.
