My name is Dan, and I am one of the lawyers here at Aitken Robertson.
I first joined the team in the summer of 2017 while attending law school at Queen’s University. Previously, I earned my Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in History from Trent University. I graduated on the President’s and Dean’s Honour Roll and received three awards for my academic research projects.
I graduated from Queen’s in 2018 with my Juris Doctor (JD) degree. While there, I also won several awards – including for the highest standing in Criminal Law, Legal Skills, Torts, and Advanced Legal Research.
When I joined Aitken Robertson, I articled under Richard Aitken – an experienced defence counsel with a focus on DUI law. Since being called to the Ontario Bar in 2019, my practice has focused exclusively on criminal defence with an emphasis on DUI and Charter law. I understand that criminal charges can seem foreign and stressful to many clients. I will always take the extra time to explain the process to you.
I have been successful in litigating at trial for matters including DUI charges and sexual assault. I have also been able to negotiate favourable resolutions for my clients.
As a Peterborough native, I am excited and thankful to be able to practice in my hometown. Outside of the office, I enjoy spending time with friends and family on Weslemkoon Lake. I love everything outdoors – including fishing, ATV-ing, snowmobiling, and spending time on the water. I am also passionate about cooking and am always trying new recipes and techniques.
