Alex was called to the bar of Ontario in 2020. He previously articled at Derstine Penman. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Alberta and a JD from Osgoode Hall Law School. During law school, Alex served as an editor of the Journal of Law and Social Policy, a caseworker with the law school’s legal aid clinic, and a volunteer with Pro Bono Students Canada.
Alex has assisted on criminal matters at the trial and appellate levels for a wide range of provincial and federal offences. He has a particular interest in exploring constitutional issues arising from the issuance of search warrants in drug trafficking matters.
Alex is a volunteer with the Pro Bono Ontario helpline, assisting low income Ontarians on contractual dispute issues.
