Arash Ghiassi Toronto Criminal Lawyer

Arash is an associate at Savard Foy LLP. He is dedicated to representing people who face criminal charges at all levels of court. He believes the legal system can be a place of great injustice. Arash works tirelessly, creatively, and collaboratively with his clients to protect their freedom.

Arash received his law degree from Yale Law School. There, he learned by doing: he worked countless hours in several legal clinics and internships, especially in criminal defense. He completed his articles at the Court of Appeal for Ontario, where he provided sharp legal analysis to judges of Ontario’s top court.

Before joining Savard Foy LLP, Arash was a partner at one of Canada's leading criminal defence firms. Prior to that, he litigated test cases at a specialized legal clinic in Toronto, where he worked closely with activists and community organizations from across the province. He has also worked at well-regarded civil liberties organizations on both sides of the US-Canada border.

Arash is called to the bar in Ontario and New York. He is a member of the Criminal Lawyers’ Association and the Movement Defense Committee of the Law Union of Ontario.
