Christina’s practice encompasses both criminal trials and appeals. She represents clients on all types of charges, including those under the Criminal Code, Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, and Extradition Act. Christina is prepared to defend any criminal allegation and has a particular interest in constitutional applications and youth criminal justice matters.
Christina approaches her clients’ legal problems with skill, determination, and empathy. Criminal charges can be overwhelming, and Christina appreciates the importance of understanding both the legal and procedural sides of the criminal justice system. She takes pride in advising her clients every step of the way and always strives to ease the stress of not knowing what happens next.
Before joining Daniel Brown Law, Christina served as a law clerk to four judges of the Court of Appeal for Ontario, where she assisted with complex criminal law matters ranging from bail reviews to murder conviction appeals. This unique experience gave Christina rare insight into the criminal appeals process, including how argue and win appellate cases.
Christina obtained her J.D. from the University of Ottawa, where she graduated cum laude. During law school she was the Editor-in-Chief of English articles for the Ottawa Law Review and a student intern with the Ticket Defence Program. It was her role with the Ticket Defence Program that sparked Christina’s passion for advocacy, as she defended provincial offences for street-involved clients in the community. Her passion for advocacy also informed her academic work, and she was awarded the Corbin Excellence Prize in Public Law for her research project arguing for a new test for constitutional challenges to arbitrary immigration detention. Christina also acted as defence counsel in the International Criminal Court Moot, where she won the best defence memorial.
