As a law school student Graham Zoppi already exhibited many qualities of someone who was destined for the criminal courtroom. He was declared the best litigator in the prestigious Zuber Moot at University of Windsor. Following that he was selected as a representative for his law school’s team in the Gale Cup, a national level competition that brings together some of the country’s best young litigators.Articling
After graduating near the top of his class, Mr. Zoppi accepted the prestigious title of “articles of clerkship” for the judges of the Superior Court of Ontario. This position had him working directly with the judiciary, providing exposure to what goes on behind the closed doors of the courtroom and familiarizing him with the complex decision making process of the court.
Upon completing his articles with the Superior Court of Ontario, Mr. Zoppi accepted a position as Crown Counsel with the Ministry of the Attorney General. While working for the Crown Mr. Zoppi primarily conducted appeals at the Ontario Court of Appeal, the highest court in the province.Mr. Zoppi also conducted bail hearings and criminal trials for the Crown in the Ontario Court of Juctice gaining experience that affords him insight into cases not typically available to many other criminal defence lawyers.
Private Bar
After serving with the Crown, Graham Zoppi made the decision to move into the private bar. This move saw him join the top tier litigation department at the prestigious firm of Blake, Cassels, and Graydon.His experience with this firm involved handling complex civil litigation, criminal, quasi-criminal, and Ontario Securities Commission matters including white-collar fraud and broker negligence cases.For more than the last decades Mr. Graham Zoppi has operated own firm and dedicated his focus entirely to the practice of criminal defence law. He makes regular appearances in the Ontario Court of Justice, Superior Court, and Court of Appeal. He acts for clients throughout the province of Ontario.Commitment to Excellence
