Melina focuses her practice exclusively on defending all criminal charges, with a particular focus on drug-related offences, domestic charges and criminal appeals. Melina has successfully represented her clients at various stages of the criminal process, including judicial interim release (bail), preliminary inquiries, trials, and appeals.
EDUCATION
Prior to graduating from the Dual J.D. Program at the University of Windsor and the University of Detroit Mercy, Melina worked at Community Legal Aid as a caseworker and was selected to represent Community Legal Aid as a Litigator. She also finished as a Quarter-Finalist in the G. Mennen Williams Moot Competition in Michigan.

EXPERIENCE
Prior to joining Kim Schofield & Associates, Melina completed her articles with Alan D. Gold Professional Corporation, where she gained invaluable knowledge of the criminal practice and procedure. During this time, she worked with lead counsel on a number of complex cases and appeals at the Superior Court of Justice and at the Ontario Court of Appeal.
