Savreet Chuckal obtained her Honours Bachelors of Arts in both Psychology and Criminal Justice and Public Policy with distinction at the University of Guelph, and subsequently received her Juris Doctor from the University of Windsor.
Throughout her law school career, Savreet volunteered at a women’s shelter, assisting vulnerable women and children obtain housing and social supports. In addition, Savreet volunteered with the John Howard Society as a bail supervision worker, ensuring individuals were aware of and following the conditions of their bail, and working with individuals to ensure their understanding of the criminal justice system.
Savreet worked at the University of Windsor’s legal clinic, Legal Assistance of Windsor, where she had carriage of her own files and worked in successfully representing individuals on their social benefits matters, housing issues, and matters before the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board. Savreet also summered at a Crown Attorney’s office, where she was able to enhance her understanding of the criminal justice system, and the role of various players involved.
