Lida Sara Nouraie works exclusively in criminal and penal law. Over the years, Me Nouraie has acquired significant experience in front of all judicial bodies relating to criminal and penal charges of all kinds.
She has also been awarded several times by Lexpert, the Association of Defense Lawyers of Montreal (AADM), the Quebec Association of Defense Lawyers (AQAAD) and the Young Bar Association of Montreal. (AJBM).
In recent years, she has acted in 9 cases at the Supreme Court of Canada. She has also been particularly involved in mega-trials and cases of crimes against the person (including homicides and sexual assaults).
She also acts as a lawyer for the Élisabeth Fry Society, a non-profit organization helping women detained or struggling with the justice system. Since the start of her mandate, Me Nouraie has carried out hundreds of interventions to advise women on their rights in prison and more generally on their civil rights.
In addition, she is president of the Innocence Quebec Project , a non-profit organization helping people claiming to be victims of judicial errors.
Me Nouraie is a lecturer at the University of Quebec in Montreal and teaches the course of applied legal activities in which students work on cases of miscarriage of justice, mainly murder cases. She regularly teaches other courses there and is a frequent member of the coaching staff for the George A. Gale Moot Court Competition.
Me Nouraie is vice-president of the Montreal Defense Lawyers Association (AADM) and involved in various professional committees.
