About Aaron J Reed

Aaron J. Reed is originaly from Las Vegas, NV, and lived there for 23 years before moving to Phoenix, Arizona to attend law school. Aaron received his bachelors degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he was a 3-time letterwinner for the football team as a wide receiver.

Upon moving to Phoenix, Aaron instantly took a liking to criminal defense, and defending people's rights. He began a judicial externship with the Honorable Sherry Stephens of the Maricopa County Superior Court. After this, Aaron worked as an extern for the Maricopa County Public Defender's Office, working on a project to help illegal immigrants who were convicted under a law that was deemed unconstitutional by the US Supreme Court. After this, Aaron became a law clerk for Kenneth S. Countryman, a criminal defense attorney in Phoenix. While working with Mr. Countryman, Aaron was exposed to cases ranging from simple misdemeanor offenses to first-degree murder. He also helped Mr. Countryman handle cases in RCC and EDC (preliminary courts). After passing the bar exam, Aaron began doing contract work for a number of local defense attorneys before accepting a position as an associate attorney with the Baker Law Firm, LLC.

While at The Baker Law Firm, LLC, Aaron handled a number of different cases, ranging from simple misdemeanors to complex felony cases. Aaron's daily tasks included conducting consultations for potential clients, appearing in court for hearings, conducting trials and other hearings, case law research, motion drafting and trial preparation. Aaron also became famaliar with Protective Orders, including Orders of Protection, Injunction Against Harassment, and Injunctions Against Workplace Harassment. In April of 2018, Aaron left The Baker Law Firm for an associate position at The Dwane Cates Law Group, PLLC (now Cates & Garvey Law Group).

The Dwane Cates Law Group opened in 1997 with the sole purpose of providing affordable, highly competent, legal services in Criminal Defense. Dwane Cates Law Group changed its name to accommodate its newest partner, Ryan Garvey, and the firm is now known as Cates Garvey Law Group.
