Michael is a native of Minnesota. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. Upon graduating, Michael obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of St. Thomas in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He began his legal practice as a Deputy Public Defender at the Maricopa County Public Defender’s Office representing hundreds of clients in serious felony matters ranging from Arson to Armed Robbery. As a public defender, he gained extensive experience litigating complex legal issues and conducting trials before judges and juries. He then left the Maricopa County Public Defender’s Office and started a boutique litigation practice focusing on serious felony cases and civil rights matters. It was there he tried numerous felony jury trials to verdict on charges such Aggravated Assault, Robbery and Murder. In addition to handling serious felonies, Michael was lead counsel on a Federal §1983 civil rights case that garnered national attention.
Michael is admitted to practice law in Arizona, Illinois, Minnesota (inactive) and the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota.
