I have committed my practice to representing individuals facing the loss of liberty due to criminal charges. I have served as an intern with the Appellate Division of the Colorado State Public Defender Office and in the Brighton Trial Office. I went on to represent thousands of clients in the Golden office of the Colorado State Public Defender. I have represented individuals charged with a multitude of offenses including minor traffic offenses, driving under the influence all the way up to felony theft, violations of the Colorado Organized Crime Control Act, homicide, and sexual assaults.
I transitioned to private practice in 2018 and I have continued to represent individuals charged with all levels of criminal offenses, Additionally, I have represented clients seeking relief pursuant to Crim. P. R. 35(c) based on new evidence or ineffective assistance of counsel claims in cases that resolved in pleas and in cases where the defendant was convicted at trial. I have also assisted individuals in reclaiming their lives through sealing prior felony convictions that have hampered efforts to obtain employment or housing.
I bring a holistic approach to her practice and believe it’s important to not only understand all aspects of the law and trial practice, but also to obtain a full understanding of my client’s personal history and the possible collateral impact a criminal conviction might have on the individual client. I understand the importance of having an advocate fully explain the process and provide support along the way during what is certainly one of the most stressful situations an individual endures.
