BeJae Shelton joined Finnell, McGuinness, Nezami, & Andux in 2012 after interning with the firm her third year of law school. She is passionate about helping her clients and their loved ones navigate the often confusing and frustrating criminal justice system.
Before studying law, BeJae attended Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia where she earned her bachelor's degree in International Relations. There, she participated in a study abroad program with the University of Plymouth in England. Before joining FMNA, BeJae worked as a legal intern for the Association of Defense Counsel at the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia, and as a Judicial Intern for the Honorable Joel B. Toomey, a federal judge for the Middle District of Florida.
BeJae graduated from Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville with honors. She has been practicing criminal defense since being admitted to the Florida bar in 2012. She has experience in all areas of criminal defense, including misdemeanors, felonies, violations of probation, drug crimes, sex crimes, aggravated battery, firearms offenses, murder, and cases involving the death penalty.
