Philip House is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. He later earned J.D. at he Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law School where he graduated in 2003.
Mr. House started his legal career working for the Caddo Parish District Attorney's Office. He was responsible for the prosecution of serious felony cases. After Hurricane Katrina, Mr. House was asked to join the Attorney General's Office and assist with the State's recovery. Mr. House prosecuted contractor fraud cases in Orleans and Jefferson Parish. Mr. House developed the screening process for contractor fraud cases and assisted in the initial investigations. During this time, Mr. House acted as special prosecutor for the New Orleans District Attorney's Office where he once again prosecuted serious felonies. In the early part of 2008, Mr. House accepted a senior felony prosecutor position with the East Baton Rouge District Attorney's Office. There he handled murder, sex crime, gun, and drug cases. Mr. House has been in private practice since 2010.
Mr. House is active in service to both the legal and Baton Rouge community as a member of the LSBA for Criminal Justice, the Louisiana State Law Institute, Wex S. Malone Inn of Court, East Baton Rouge Alcohol Control Board, Louisiana Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Baton Rouge Bar Association, and the Louisiana District Attorney Association.
Mr. House and his family are members of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church. Mr. House's three children attend Our Lady of Mercy and St. Thomas More Catholic Schools.
