Attorney Nielsen moved to the State of Maine from Upstate New York in the Summer of 2001 and has never looked back. Attorney Nielsen graduated magna cum laude from SUNY Plattsburgh in the summer of 2001 with two prestigious Internships already under his belt. His first taste of the Law in application began as an intern at the Clinton County (NY) District Attorney’s Office in Plattsburgh NY and then as a Senate Intern in the NYS Senate in Albany NY his fall & spring semesters before graduation.
After graduating from SUNY Plattsburgh, Attorney Nielsen applied directly to Law School and chose Maine Law to attend to receive his Juris Doctor. While at Maine Law Attorney Nielsen fell in love with the State of Maine and decided to make his home and career here, taking advantage of every aspect of life that Maine has to offer. Attorney Nielsen started practicing law as soon as he could, as a Student Attorney through the Cumberland Legal Aid Clinic during his busy final semester of Law School. Graduating in 2004 and passing the Maine State Bar Examination later that summer, Attorney Nielsen has been fighting for your rights ever since. Attorney Nielsen knows that it is necessary to be aware of the current law and in as well as current investigative techniques in law enforcement in order to be an effective advocate for his clients. As such Attorney Nielsen has taken continuing legal education in OUI Detection, Standardized Field Sobriety Testing, Drug Recognition Evaluation, Intoxylizer operation to name just a few in in the myriad of Criminal Law CLEs that he has taken over his 15+ years of practice.
