About Marc Richard Emden

Protecting people falsely accused of crimes they did not commit as well as those bullied by aggressors, Emdenlaw was created in 1987 as a unique idea in the legal community. This concept was borne out of Marc Emden’s recognition that people in our community facing criminal charges expected and deserved high quality legal representation.

At Emdenlaw, we also realized that going through a criminal prosecution is indeed very stressful and difficult. To assist our clients during the course of their representation, we often advise of them of the best ways to cope with the difficulty of their legal challenges. This advice has consisted of our recommending an effective therapist, drug counselor, alcohol program, family counseling, and defensive driving program, among many others.

As a result of this two-prong approach, our clients’ chances of a successful outcome always improve. We have been employing this approach for over 30 years to win cases.

Since our beginnings, we have grown from a sole practitioner firm to two attorneys and a bilingual translator. We have represented over 1000 clients in Washington DC and in almost every county in the entire State of Maryland.

In 2013, the President of the Maryland State Bar Association again reappointed Mr. Emden to the Maryland State Bar Association Committee on Ethics. This represents his seventh year on the committee.

He is also a member of the Simon Sobeloff Jewish Law Society which, this year ,will honor former Maryland Governor Marvin Mandel for his outstanding contributions to the legal and Jewish communities.

He was the former co-chair of the Bar Association of Montgomery County’s Criminal Law Section from 2008-2012. In his spare time, Marc enjoys performing improvisational comedy and has performed at the DC Improv and at the Washington Improv Theater in Washington DC. he also vigorous physical fitness.
