After almost 20 years as a prosecutor, Mr. Anderson brings to the Law Offices of Thomas C. Mooney extensive experience in complex, high profile criminal matters, especially matters involving homicide, violent crimes, and vehicular crimes.
In 2003, Mr. Anderson began his career as an Assistant District Attorney in the Kings County District Attorney's Office in Brooklyn, New York. Mr. Anderson was assigned to the "Red Zone" which was the most violent and busiest division in the office. Mr. Anderson's primary assignment was violent crimes ranging from Robberies to Homicide. Mr. Anderson was cross designated with the Vehicular Crimes Division where he handled repeat DWI Offenders and Vehicular Manslaughter cases. During his time in Brooklyn, Mr. Anderson was promoted to Senior Trial Attorney for conducting dozens of felony and countless misdemeanor jury trials.
In 2008, Mr. Anderson joined the Montgomery County State's Office as an Assistant State's Attorney. During his time in Montgomery County Mr. Anderson was assigned to the Down County Felony Division, Special Victim's Investigation Division, Major Crimes Division, Manslaughter by Motor Vehicle Team and the General Felony Unit as a Deputy Team Leader. Mr. Anderson's assignment consisted of handling the most complex and difficult violent crimes in the County as well as any and all complex automobile manslaughter cases. During his time in Montgomery County Mr. Anderson was promoted to Senior State's Attorney while conducting countless felony jury trials in topics ranging from vehicular manslaughter to homicide. Mr. Anderson is a trained collision reconstructionist having completed over 400 hours of certification in that field. As Mr. Anderson became recognized as the statewide expert in the field of vehicular death cases Governor Hogan's Office requested him to join the board of several Maryland Department of Transportation committees. Beginning in 2009 the Maryland State's Attorney's Association has requested Mr. Anderson to instruct other prosecutors on trial advocacy, vehicular manslaughter, firearm tool mark comparisons, and other complex legal issues.
