Josh is a hard worker. Twenty years ago, hard work and dedication propelled Josh to the top of his law school class of 170+ other students. Since then, Josh has implemented that same hard work and dedication to his law practice. Josh's philosophy of hard work and dedication ultimately created a thriving and successful law practice that, to date, has served over 4,000 clients.
Josh's highest commitment in his legal practice is to provide strong advocacy on behalf of his clients. To that end, Josh believes in keeping his skills sharp by frequently participating in Continuing Legal Education. Josh believes that spotting issues that others will often miss is vital to highly effective lawyering. Josh believes in going the extra mile to meet and then exceed his client's expectations.
Josh charges a fair and reasonable fee for his legal services. Josh promises to charge a fee that is consistent with the time required for the matter as well as the complexity of the issue. After graduating from MSU Law, Josh returned to his hometown of Port Huron to build the foundation for his private law practice. After working as an associate attorney at a small Port Huron law firm, Josh joined his current firm of Bales & Rubin PLLC as a partner in 2005. Since then, Josh has focused his practice on criminal defense, driver’s license restoration, expungements, probation violations, and juvenile delinquency petitions.
Josh has a tremendous and profound respect for the privilege and responsibility that goes along with practicing law. Josh is known for giving straightforward, honest and practical legal advice to his clients so that the best possible result can be achieved. Josh excels in client communication, problem-solving, and effective advocacy in the courtroom. In his free time, Josh enjoys planning/taking trips with his family, spending time hanging out on Lake Huron, skiing, working out at the gym, and studying personal finance.
