About Marsh J Halberg

As Minnesota Lawyer's 2011 Attorney of the Year with 30 years of experience as a criminal trial lawyer, Marsh J. Halberg represents the residents of greater Minneapolis and St. Paul area. His track record of trying more than 100 criminal jury trials in addition to thousands of court trials before a judge shows the level of trust clients place in him to handle their legal needs. He focuses on a wide variety of criminal cases ranging from the simple to the complex, including homicide, sexual offenses, drug crimes, property crimes, probation matters, vehicular injury cases, DWI cases and white collar defense.

After he completed his undergraduate studies at St. Olaf College, Mr. Halberg matriculated from Hamline University School of Law. He went on to serve as a prosecutor for the city of Edina, Minnesota, and the Metropolitan Airports Commission and was promoted to chief prosecutor where he oversaw 15,000 cases per year.

Mr. Halberg has achieved a number of accomplishments throughout his career and been honored as one of the National Trial Lawyers' Top 100 Trial Lawyers and one of Minnesota's top six criminal defense attorneys by Mpls.St.Paul Magazine. He has also been recognized by his peers in Who's Who in Criminal Law as one of the top 40 criminal defense lawyers in Minnesota and was named a member of Outstanding Lawyers of America.

As a highly sought-after speaker on criminal law issues, Mr. Halberg has written a number of training and seminar materials for use in the legal field. He serves as the editor of the Minnesota DWI Deskbook, a reference book for lawyers in the state.
