Mr. Troso focuses his entire practice on defending clients in Criminal, DWI, and Traffic cases. With extensive experience in law enforcement, having worked as a police officer, an investigator, and a Prosecutor, Mr. Troso brings a wealth of knowledge to draw on in the defense of his clients. Having both working in prosecuting and in defended cases in New Jersey Courts, he has a unique insight into how these cases should be handled.
After graduating the Burlington County Police Academy, Mr. Troso worked as a Police Officer prior to begining his career as Investigator with the New Jersey Division of Criminal Justice. He assisted in training new investigators and, after being Certified by the Police Training Commission he taught at area police academies. While working full time for the Division of Criminal Justice as an investigator he attended Rutgers Law School in the evenings.
After graduationg law school he began his legal career as a Prosecutor working in the capacity as a Deputy Attorney General for the NJ Division of Criminal Justice prosecuting complex criminal cases. Mr. Troso moved to private practice, initially defending large insurance companies against Civil Claims. He then practicing at a small boutique law firm where he started focusing on criminal and DWI defense. There he handled thousands of cases involving motions, pleas, trials and appeals.
He currently is Of Counsel to the law firm of Helmer, Conley, & Kasselman PA. There Mr. Troso continues to assist clients in Criminal, DWI, and traffic matters. Helmer, Conley, & Kasselman PA, has been defending clients for over 25 years and has 14 offices conveniently located throughout the State. They have a team of 60 attorneys with over twenty five former prosecutors, most with law enforcement experience.
Mr. Troso is certified by the Supreme court of New Jersey as a Certified Municipal Court Trial Attorney. Attorneys who have been certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey, have met specific guidelines set by the Supreme Court including being a good standing member of the New Jersey Bar for at least 5 years, fulfilling ongoing continuing legal education requirements, demonstrating substantial experience in their area of practice, receiving favorable evaluations from other attorneys and judges, as well as passing a test on their specific practice area. Only approximately 2% of all attorneys practicing in New Jersey are Certified.
