About Jonathan Brian Manley

Jonathan Manley was born and raised on Long Island. After graduating from Hofstra University School of Law he joined the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office. As an Assistant District Attorney, Mr. Manley’s initial focus was in the investigation of large scale white-collar crimes, including embezzlement, identity theft, insurance fraud and other financial crimes. Primarily though, Mr. Manley was responsible for the investigation and prosecution of all tax crimes in Suffolk County. These crimes involved personal income tax evasion, payroll taxes and sales tax fraud. His efforts in this field resulted in an award from the New York State Tax Department’s Criminal Investigative Division for Outstanding Achievement. Mr. Manley finished his career as a prosecutor with the Major Crimes Bureau, handling a wide variety of felony cases, including Burglary, Robbery, Sex Offenses, DWI, Vehicular Crimes and Homicide. These matters were managed from arraignment through trial.

After his retirement from the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office, Mr. Manley opened The Law Offices of Jonathan B. Manley and has been committed to supplying the best possible representation for his clients. In addition to his law practice, Mr. Manley is also an Adjunct Professor of Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure and Wills, Trusts and Estate Administration. As a professor, he has taught his students about the value of proper estate planning in order to protect their client’s financial assets and the understanding of one’s constitutional rights in order to protect their client’s personal freedom. Mr. Manley has received specialized training in the fields of motor vehicle crash reconstruction, the collection of evidence in sex offense cases, DNA, forensic accounting, police investigative practices and litigation techniques.
