Biju John Koshy is an experienced trial lawyer and counselor. Biju brings a wealth of unparalleled criminal law experience to the firm. As a prosecutor in the Bronx District Attorney's Office, Biju handled hundreds of cases, ranging from low-level infractions to some of the most violent crimes in the county, including armed robberies, attempted murders, and gang-related crimes.
While in the Bronx, Biju was responsible for high profile press cases and handled some of the first "Leandra's Law" DWI prosecutions in the county. He was soon selected to serve as a supervisor in the Richmond County District Attorney's Office, overseeing all charging decisions on criminal matters and serving as a trial supervisor. As a vehicular crimes specialist, Mr. Koshy took part in statewide trainings for Driving While Impaired By Drugs offenses and gave lectures on DWI trial techniques and preparation. Under District Attorney Daniel M. Donovan, Mr. Koshy was appointed to the position of Deputy Chief and managed the entire Criminal Court Bureau. As a prosecutor, he conducted trial training for Assistant District Attorneys and provided legal instruction for various units of the New York City Police Department.
In 2015, Biju Koshy was hired by the Hon. Raymond L. Rodriguez to serve as a Senior Court Attorney, drafting decisions for the court on a wide array of criminal cases and reviewing criminal appeals. As a Court Attorney, Biju developed subject matter expertise in search warrants, subpoenas, pen registers, and other investigative tools utilized in narcotics cases. Biju also took part in judicial training seminars, giving him a unique perspective on issues as viewed from the bench.
Mr. Koshy is a graduate of Seton Hall University School of Law, where he was appointed Chair of the Honor Council. Biju serves on the Board of Directors of the South Asian Bar Association of New York and is a member of the Judiciary Committee. He is also an active member of the Asian american Bar Association, the New York County Lawyer's Association, and the Richmond County Bar Association.
