I established The Pearson Law Firm, PLLC in 2015 after over 15 years of experience as a trial attorney. I have extensive experience in criminal law, prosecuting at all levels from misdemeanors to murder. I've also prosecuted numerous jury trials involving DWI, drug trafficking, white-collar crimes, insurance fraud, arson, and murder. I understand the ramifications of speeding and DWI/DUI offenses on your driving record, license and insurance expenses. I are here to help you understand your options and work to negotiate the best outcome for you.

I have always called the mountains of Western North Carolina home, growing up in Morganton, North Carolina before attending The McCallie School in Chattanooga, Tennessee. I majored in English at Appalachian State University and went on to earn my law degree at the Oklahoma City University School of Law.

My law practice began in Eastern North Carolina. I was an Assistant District Attorney in the 4th Prosecutorial District from 1999 until 2004 at which time I transferred to the 29th Prosecutorial District, continuing as an Assistant District Attorney until 2005. I then entered private practice with an estate planning firm in Asheville. In 2007, the elected District Attorney asked me to return to the D.A.’s office and focus on superior court jury trials in Transylvania, Henderson, and Polk Counties. I was appointed by Governor Pat McCrory as Acting District Attorney on May 15, 2013. I have also had the honor of being appointed special prosecutor in counties outside my home district.

I attended, and later assisted in the curriculum develoPMent for, the Arson Training for Prosecutors course presented by The Bureau for Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms (ATF). I was also an expert speaker at the North Carolina Crime Information Exchange Conference. I have served as a member of the Arson Task Force in both the 4th and 29th districts, and on the Henderson County Juvenile Crime Prevention Council, and Child Fatality Prevention Task Force. During my off time I enjoy cycling, mountaing biking, running, boating, camping and relaxing outside.
