Brad grew up in Greensboro, North Carolina and graduated from Greensboro Day School. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from North Carolina State University and his law degree from the University of Mississippi.
After graduating from Ole Miss Law, Brad Polk took a job with the Wake County District Attorney’s Office. As a prosecutor, Brad acquired a passion for criminal law and developed the foundation for his legal career.
Recognizing the importance of effective representation for all individuals charged with a crime, Brad became a criminal defense attorney. He went to work for prominent Raleigh attorney Kieran Shanahan, who now serves on Governor Pat McCrory’s Cabinet. As a defense attorney, Brad has represented those from all walks of life, including indigent defendants, attorneys, doctors, and noteworthy businessmen.
Brad also gives back to the community. He currently volunteers for a youth program called, “Our Youth Matters.” As a member of the Board, Brad travels around the Raleigh area speaking to local schools, youth groups, and parents on topics aimed at helping today’s youth. This organization allows Brad to work with Wake County Deputies, Raleigh Police Officers, District Court Judges, Superior Court Judges, and Principals to better our community.
