She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Texas in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in English. In 2004, she received a full scholarship to attend Baylor Law School, where she was a member of the mock trial team and the client counseling team and graduated at the top of her class. She received her J.D. cum laude honors in February of 2007 with a Criminal Practice Area of Concentration.

When asked when she decided she wanted to be a criminal defense attorney, her answer is “According to my parents, I was about 4 years old when I told them I wanted to be an attorney, and I apparently specified that I wanted to do criminal defense law.” And that is exactly what Mrs. Rueda began doing as soon as she received her license.
