Sheridan grew up in Dallas, Texas, where she was an accomplished scholar-athlete at Highland Park High School. She then attended Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana where she graduated with honors. There, she earned a Bachelor of the Arts degree in Latin American Studies and Political Science, with a minor in Spanish. She then returned to Dallas to attend Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law. While attending law school, Sheridan completed clerkships at the Fifth District Court of Appeals, United States Citizenship and Immigration Services, and the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office. In her third year of law school, she participated in the SMU Criminal Justice Clinic, providing pro bono criminal defense work to indigent clients charged with misdemeanors in Dallas County. While in the clinic, Sheridan gained trial experience, as well as other courtroom experience and a solid introduction to the practices of the Dallas County Courthouse. Sheridan is licensed to practice law in the State of Texas and has been admitted to the United States District Court Northern District of Texas, and has handled cases in many counties including Collin, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Grayson, Hunt, Kaufman, McLennan, Navarro, Parker, Rockwall, Johnson, Cass and Tarrant counties. In 2015, she was admitted to practice in the United States Supreme Court in Washington D.C.
