Claire practices as a Family Law lawyer and a Criminal Defence lawyer. Before commencing her studies in law, Claire completed a B.A. in Criminology and Psychology at the University of Ottawa. She later pursued her legal education at Lakehead University in Thunder Bay and completed a Juris Doctor. Claire then completed her articling placement with the Crown Attorney’s office in Kenora, Ontario. Claire continued to practice law in Northern Ontario after graduating from law school and being called to the Ontario Bar in 2019. Her main areas of practice during that time were criminal defence, family law, and poverty law. She has a particular interested in the legal issues that affect marginalized persons, and found Northern Ontario to be a location which offered many opportunities for those purposes. Claire grew up in the Midland area and continues to be active in her community. She is a French-speaker, and continues to be involved with her French-Canadian and Metis heritage. Claire is committed to making a positive impact in this community and providing legal services to people in need. Her experience, empathy, and people skills enable her to create meaningful connections with clients and work effectively with all parties.
