About Mark D DuBiel

If you’re facing criminal charges, this may be one of the most frightening and stressful experiences that you have ever gone through. You need someone who will listen to you and what you’re going through, someone you can trust, and most importantly, someone who can provide quality and effective legal representation. Mark has dedicated his entire career to representing people who have been charged with committing offenses, from criminal speeding to DUI, from assault to homicide. Combining a wealth of legal experience and personalized representation has been the cornerstone of his practice. Mark believes that in order to effectively represent and defend your case, he has to know who you are and give individualized attention to detail because your case is unique.

Mark’s roots in the greater Phoenix metropolitan area run deep. He grew up here and attended the University of Arizona for both his undergraduate degree as well as law school. He graduated from the James E. Rogers College of Law in 1995, then returned to the Phoenix area. Following his graduation, Mark worked as a law clerk for the Honorable Cheryl Hendrix, dealing primarily with criminal cases, and was then recognized by the Maricopa County Public Defender’s Office for his talents in criminal law and offered a position. Mark accepted and fervently represented thousands of defendants in cases ranging from misdemeanor DUI to homicide.

In 2001, Mark started his private practice dedicated to the defense of the criminally accused and has had the privilege of representing people from all areas and walks of life: prominent members of the community, veterans, sports figures, citizens from foreign countries, and high-profile media cases. Over the course of nearly two decades, he has successfully defended hundreds of criminal cases in Justice, Municipal, and Superior Courts throughout Maricopa County. Additionally, Mark has also acted as local defense counsel for several international criminal law cases, has lectured before his colleagues, and taught as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Arizona Summit Law School (previously Phoenix School of Law) in their "Trial Advocacy" section. Mark is committed to improving his profession locally, nationally, and internationally.

Mark strives to provide the most comprehensive and cutting-edge representation possible. The extensive, 3-year odyssey in State v. Herman, involving the Scottsdale Crime Laboratory exposed its problems. Throughout the process, Mark was constantly learning and developed an advanced understanding of scientific methodologies used by forensic laboratories and analysts testing blood with gas chromatography. Further, since the consolidated matter was one of first legal impression under the new Arizona Rule of Evidence 702, he and the three other dedicated attorneys conducted all of the thorough legal research and writing. Mark was able to educate the public via local and national news “features,” has since lectured on this subject matter at local and national seminars for criminal defense attorneys, and also authored a chapter in a forthcoming publication on scientific DUI defense. Over the years, Mark has been involved in different professional organizations, including the National College of DUI Defense, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Arizona Attorneys for Criminal Justice, and the newly founded DUI Defense Lawyers Association, of which he is both a founding member and the “Arizona ambassador.”
