John having been born and raised in Henderson, Nevada attended UNLV for his undergraduate degree. He majored in Criminal Justice with a minor in Business Law. He always knew he was destined to become an attorney. Thereafter, John attended Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan from 2006 through 2008, achieving his Juris Doctor in January 2009. While in law school John was an Honors Scholarship Recipient, a founding member of the school’s Business Law Society, a Dean’s List Member, and a Phi Alpha Delta Member. After completing law school he returned home to Henderson, Nevada.
In 2009 John worked in a criminal defense firm who represented clients in both civil and criminal matters. Here John found the types of law he enjoyed practicing.
In 2010 John wanted to see what life was like handling insurance defense matters where the insurance company was the client. He saw the inner workings of all major insurance companies which has since allowed him to use their tools against them. He primarily handled and managed approximately 55 complex litigation and general litigation files with significant client contact. He attended mediations and performed settlement negotiations on behalf of multi-million dollar clients, handling matters involving settlement demands in excess of $10 million.
From 2010 until opening up his own firm in 2014, John worked at a high-profile criminal defense firm where performed primarily criminal defense. This firm was aggressive in its defense with of clients and many bench and jury trials were conducted during his tenure. Approximately 15% of work product was devoted to general civil practice.
He and his partner, Terry Jones-Zach, realized there was a segment of the community that was being under served: middle class americans who can’t afford a $10,000.00 flat fee or an attorney who bills at $500.00 per hour.
