Steve regulary defends those charged with crimes in Central Virginia. Steve is certified by the IDC on felony, misdemeanor, and juvenile cases. Steve has argued cases in the General District, Juvenile, Circuit, and Court of Appeals of Virginia.
Steve is currently a faculty member at the Virginia CLE Defense of Serious Traffic Cases and DUI Defense seminars where he instructs other lawyers on how to practice in DUI, hit and run, reckless driving and other cases, and has taught at the Commonwealth Attorney’s Services Council Spring Institute, the Virginia State Police Academy and the Henrico Police Academy.
Steve joined Winslow & McCurry in 2013 after serving as an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney for five and one half years. He was an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney in Loudoun County for two years, before serving as an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney in Henrico County. As an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney, Steve prosecuted every type of case, with a focus on serious traffic cases, DUI, DUI-Drug/Blood Draw cases and traffic fatality cases.
Born and raised in Burke, Virginia, Steve attended the College of William and Mary with a major in Public Policy. After college, he attended the TC Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond. While at Richmond, he was a member of the Trial Advocacy Board, Moot Court Team and the Journal of Law and Public Interest. Upon graduation, he was awarded the Trial Advocacy Award from the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association.
Steve enjoys boating, baseball, hockey and guitar and playing intramural sports with River City Sports and Social Club.
